The Arnsberg urban area is located in one of the largest contiguous forest areas in Germany. The Arnsberg Forest Nature Park is a unique nature reserve with an exemplary network of hiking trails for pure enjoyment of nature. Arnsberg is one of the most historically significant towns on the well-developed Ruhr Valley Cycle Route. The Ruhr flows through Arnsberg over a distance of more than 30 kilometers, demonstrating the versatility of the town.
